28.8.2023: Seoul begrüßt mich mit Regen
Schon in der Nacht zum 27. August war zu hören, dass , wie im Wetterbericht angekündigt, Regen in Seoul eingesetzt hat. Daher beschloss ich, meine Resie mit einem Besuch im Nationalmuseum von Korea zu beginnen, das bequem mit der U-Bahn zu erreichen ist und eine eigene Station hat. Die Lage mit Blick auf den Namsan Berg und die Architektur sind atemberaubend. Die ständige Ausstellung, die kostenlos beucht werden kann, biete einen guten Überblick über die Geschichte, die Kultur und die Traditionen des Landes. Ergänzt habe ich den Besuch dann noch mit den Hangeul Museum, das im gleichen Park liegt und einen Überblick über die koreanische Landessprache Hangeul bietet.
Kulinarisch gesehen habe ich heute Mandu probiert. Das sind gedämpfte Nudeltaschen, die mit gehacktem Schweinefleisch und verschiedenen Gemüsen lecker gefüllt sind. Dazu gab es natürlich das obligatorische Kimchi. Ein Rezept werde ich ergänzen, sobald ich das Ganze selber zu Hause einmal ausprobiert habe :-)
28th August: Seoul welcomes me with rain
While seleeping after the flight it started raining at night in Seoul. So I decided to start my trip visitng the National-Museum of Korea because you can reach it easily with subway. The place with a look at Namsan Mountain and Seoul Tower and the architecture are stunning. The permanent exhibition is for free and offers a wide overview to Koreas rich history, the traditions and the culture of the country. I completed my visit with the Hangeul museum which is situated in the same park. I learned a lot about the Korean language and the Hangeul letters there.
The first real meal in Seoul were stemaed Mandu. A kind of dumplings made of thin dough filled with pork meat and different vegetables. Aside the mandatory spicy Kimchi was offered. I will post s recipe once I tried them at home but folding the dumplings seems to be a work of art. :-)
